You can taking trip from Tarakan to Derawan then to other islands.. there is no boats to go directly from Tarakan to Derawan unless u rent it or you go by Tour.
with Tour Package (10 - 12 persons) for 3D and 2N around IDR 950.000 - IDR. 1.500.000 / person - roundtrip ( for Derawan-Sangalaki-Maratua and Kakaban ) include : Meal, admission to other island like Kakaban, Sangalaki, Tour guide, and standar room non AC.
U have two choice, u can go by overland or by sea..
By Overland :
From Tarakan take a speedboat to Tanjung selor IDR. 80.000 - 1.5 hours u need to start in the morning to get the car and boat to Derawan
Tanjung Selor take a car (like kijang or avanza) to Berau IDR. 70.000 - IDR. 80.000 - 2,5 hours.
Berau to Tanjung Batu by car also IDR. 70.000- IDR. 80.000 - 2,5 hours
Tanjung Batu to Derawan by speedboat IDR. 50.000 for 4 ppl or IDR. 250.000 for rent - 30 minits
Total around : IDR. 250.000 - 300.000
By Sea :
You can Rent a Speed boat from Tarakan to Derawan around IDR. 2.000.000 - IDR. 3.000.000 its better u come with group so u can share. And when u arrive in Derawan u can take a tour to other Islands but im not sure abot the cost .
but if u go by Tour like i tell u above mybe its more cheap, so depends on you :D

lodging : IDR. 150.000 - IDR.500.000 ( cottage)
